Atlantic Ocean crossing of LWS #12000 'Denmark'

Coinciding with the 60th anniversary of the delivery of the 20 boats built by Alberto Lineburger for the 1959 Snipe's World Championship, we had the joy to follow the Atlantic Ocean crossing on container of the legendary DENMARK #12000 (Actual owner: Mariano Arroyo)

Two Lineburger Snipes left Rosario - Argentina on August 2019 to arrive providentially in Valencia -Spain during starting week of 2019 Snipe World's in Brazil.

We thank the Argentinian Sailors for recording and sharing this special and historic moment for us. We wish Good Winds to all and wish you to continue preserving the Wooden Spirit alive!

Some information about the realization of the 1959 Snipe World Cup promoted by the Jangadeiros' Yatch Club:

Kurt Keller told us that it all started during his performance with his Lineburger BL (BRA) 11113 in Portugal at the 1957 World Championship when he managed to convince the Snipe Class Board with the promise of the offering of 20 boats, in the same way as his # 11113, for the yachtsmen to compete.

The partnership for the first Snipe World Championship below the Equator line was then signed, with great support from Leopoldo Geyer in the event and SAVEL consortium with the Lineburger Shipyard.

The LWS # 12000 for many years was owned by the former Commodore of the Snipe Class - Flavio Caiuby, and is the legendary snipe sailed by Paul Elvstrom - Champion of 1959 Snipe World's.
